ALE, GLORIOUS ALE!

We love our real ale here at The Yew Tree – you’ll find our house bitter, Stonehouse Brewery’s “Station Bitter” and our house pale ale, Merlin Brewery’s “Merlin’s Gold”, joined by up to five guest ales from the length and breadth of the country. We usually have a selection of local ales to try, anything from a mild, to pale and hoppy, to IPA’s to good old English best bitters. We are now included in The Good Beer Guide 2012, the best guide to use when looking for great beer and also support South Cheshire CAMRA’s LocAle Scheme.

Stonehouse Brewery – Station Bitter 3.9%

“Our house ale, the most popular ale we sell by a country mile! Brewed in Oswestry by an Aussie who grew up testing his home brew kit in New Zealand before marrying his Welsh sweetheart and settling over here… or something like that. We’re just glad he made it as this beer is FANTASTIC! Malty, slightly sweet with a good bitterness and incredibly moreish.”

Merlin Brewery – Merlin’s Gold 3.8%

“Our new house ale – this time a wonderful citrus, sharp, hoppy pale ale. Hugely refreshing and superbly suppable! Everytime we’ve had this cracker as a guest it’s flown out so we knew it would be welcomed as a permanent beer here.”
